I have seen this movie on HBO for several times but this is my first time to see it from the beginning to the end.
This is a true story. Actually, it is more than a story because it was somebody's really life. The life that I can never think of.
Like the father said, it is just a job but she did the job well. He envies her and admires her. So do I. This makes me thought of my friend who is a high school teacher and teaches in a small island on the Pacific Ocean. Her students made her cry almost everyday in her first year to be the teacher. Now, they are getting better and better. I think one day she will be proud of them...
This story is more complicated than you think...these kids were surrounding with racial problem, gang problem...
In the movie, in Ms Gull's class, they forgave each other after understanding the story of the most big gang in the world and then they have chance to change.
Toast to Change!!
PS. I miss my students, too. Hope they are happy and healthy somewhere!!
