CELLISTS

The concert was held on 8th July, 2010 at Wei-Wu-Ying. It was started on 7:30PM. Sophie and I arrived just on time. There had been a lot of people waiting for a feast of music.

The music was amazing. Some tacks were familiar, some were my first time to listen. But all of them were beautiful and intoxicating. Besides, the humorous host made the show more friendly to the audience who was not a big fan of classic music.

I was not only excited about seeing such activity being held in Kaohsiung but also happy that so many people attended this concert. Some people might say that most people attended the concert as a result of free entry. But so what? I thought it was a good beginning of developing citizen's ability of art appreciation even though there were still a lot of things needed to be improved.

As to the things needed to be improved, the most important and urgent one is respect. It was a golden opportunity that people could see the Twelve Cellists of Berlin Philharmonic play music in pubic without entry fee. However, free does not mean cheap. Some people kept talking while the music was played; some people left before the last track.  These people showed the worst attitude to the cellists on the stage. Although they just took small part of the audience, they still lowered the quality of the Kaohsiung people. I hope as more and more art activities are held, more and more people will learn to respect artists and their performance.

Overall, I had a great time that night, enjoying the music and chatting with Sophie after the concert. The only thing I would like to complain was we forgot to bring beer with us!!!
